Shared costs for roommates
Roommate friction rarely comes from difficult arithmetic. It comes from forgotten purchases, changing housemates and assumptions about what the rent includes. A short written rule and a visible monthly record remove most ambiguity.
Rent may be equal, based on room size or set in the lease. Internet is usually equal. Groceries may belong outside the shared pot. Decide each category once, name one payer for every bill, and keep proof of the total. The goal is not constant surveillance; it is a record everyone can check.
Three roommates share 15,000 kr rent, 450 kr internet and 750 kr electricity. The total is 16,200 kr.
An equal split is 5,400 kr each. If Noor paid the full amount, the other two roommates each transfer 5,400 kr to Noor.
If one room has a separately agreed rent premium, put that difference into custom percentages instead of improvising a different amount every month.
