Fair household bill-split calculator

Which split should you choose?

Equal

Equal works well when the group has similar financial room or values the clearest possible rule.

By income

Income-based sharing follows each person’s share of combined take-home income and can reduce strain when earnings differ.

Custom

Custom percentages suit different room values, temporary leave or another explicit agreement. Lock any shares that should stay fixed while the remaining percentages rebalance to total 100%. At least one share always remains unlocked.

How the calculator works

  1. 1. Add at least two people and their monthly net incomes.
  2. 2. List only the bills the household has agreed to share.
  3. 3. Choose equal, income-based or custom percentages.
  4. 4. Record what each person paid. Direct settlement is for exactly two people; larger groups use Household.

The calculation stays in the browser tab. The currency preference is saved in this browser; calculator entries are not saved or sent to Billum.
